Our History

From a small town in Sicily, Mr Giuseppe Ferrante descended onto London in the late 60s.

In 1971 he purchased his first hard Ice Cream Van serving a variety of 20 flavours. From the onset the importance of appearance and presentation came into play, illustrated by Giuseppe’s T-shirt.

By the late 70’s Giuseppe purchased his first almost new soft ice cream van from Rossi’s of Ruislip.

After spending several years working the everyday rounds and local parks, Giuseppe transcended onto major venues and events acquiring his first concession for the Derby at Epsom Downs in 1976, that same year brought Thruxton Race Circuit and Reading Pop Festival.

Giuseppe’s effervescent personality and business ethics were second to none and with the help of Mrs Ferrante aka Linda the business grew from strength to strength.

By the mid 80’s Mr. Giuseppe Ferrante had imprinted his stamp on the catering world

Obtaining the contracts for Chelsea Flower Show and the old Wembley Stadium in 1984 by this point he had established a universal Yankee doodle stars and strips colours for the vans and all his assistants were all fully uniformed .

His precedence had been set and the final years of the 80’s saw the Knebworth Festival, the Essex Agricultural Show, Queen and the Police concert at Milton keynes, the Monsters of Rock at Donington , and the Newbury Air Show one of the largest American Air Show in the UK.

The 90’s saw Royal Ascot, Silverstone Race Circuit, Biggin Hill Air Show, Brands Hatch, Bournemouth Air Show, Newbury Agricultural Show... the list is endless.

By the year 2000 Giuseppe Ferrante had single-handedly established himself as one of the most successful Ice Cream man in the country.

During his reign his impact was so great that even major brands such as Walls and Lyons Maid had worked alongside him.

The 2000’s brought Donington Race Circuit and Capital Radio 'Parties in the Parks'.

His continued success and quality of service has made event organisers continue to rebook him year after year.

Anyone that has even got close to his success has done so under his initial guidance and advice.

Mr Giuseppe Ferrante we salute you!
